Mindful Practice: Focus on Serious and Life-Limiting Illness

May 1-4, 2013

A workshop designed for physicians who work in Intensive Care, Oncology, Palliative Care and other settings in which clinicians regularly face serious illness and mortality. This workshop will focus on developing attention, self-awareness and self-monitoring skills in high-stress settings. The goal of the workshop is to reduce clinician burnout and improve wellbeing, while enhancing the quality of patient-centered care clinicians provide. The workshop will also address mindful practice teaching and program development in medical settings. No prior experience necessary, but openness and experience with contemplative practice is highly desirable. It will be held at the beautiful Chapin Mill Retreat Center, in Western New York.
