Los próximos 22, 23 y 24 de abril se llevarán a cabo varias actividades de este grupo, aprovechando la reunión semestral del grupo durante los días 25 y 26 de abril en Madrid.

En primer lugar, el SIMPOSIO sobre Docencia de la Comunicación en los estudios del Grado de Medicina, que se celebrará el dia 22 de abril de 3 a 7 de la tarde en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Esperamos que sea una jornada para intercambiar ideas, reflexionar y proponer actividades de cara a la implementación de la Comunicación Clínica en más Universidades. Contamos con expertos en la materia para llevar a cabo la sesIón: Jonathan Silverman, Marcy Rosenbaum, Evelyn VanWeel-Baumgarten y Roger Ruiz; Charo Dago y Ana Carvajal como organizadoras. Y contamos también con todos aquellos que queráis asistir, bien porque tengáis interés en la actividad o por vuestra implicación actual o futura en la docencia universitaria.
EACH como asociación y tEACH, como grupo de trabajo tienen entre sus objetivos la de ayudar a los docentes de comunicación de los países miembros; los ponentes nos regalan ese día su tiempo y su experiencia, por lo que esta actividad no tiene coste de inscripción para los asistentes.

We are delighted to announce a two-day residential course in Madrid focusing on experiential communication skills teaching. Please forward this to any of your colleagues who might be interested. The course is directed towards teachers of health professionals (for example medical students, nurses, physiotherapists, doctors) and we would encourage teachers with a variety of experience of experiential learning to apply.
This course will be highly interactive, participant centred and experiential. It will be facilitated by experienced teachers from the teaching committee of the European Association of Communication in Healthcare. Feedback from previous courses has been extremely positive. ?The large group work will be held in English and as much as possible will accommodate participants for whom English is not their first language. We anticipate having a separate Spanish-language group for the small group work We are also aware that different institutions in different countries will have varying resources in terms of available teachers, simulated patients and technology. ?The focus will be on how to teach, especially facilitation of small groups, rather than what to teach or how to develop a curriculum. As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to
apply educational theory to designing effective communication skills training
describe key components of effective experiential communication skills training sessions
use role play, video, small groups and simulated patients to enhance learner communication skills
structure feedback to enhance learning in communication training sessions
recognize emotions in the context of communication training sessions
describe strategies for managing large and small group dynamics in communication training sessions
We will create a safe supportive learning environment from the outset.
A more detailed timetable will be sent at a later date but the course will run from 9:00 AM Wednesday 23rd until 5:00 PM Thursday 24th April 2014. The total cost will be €560 (including meals and refreshments), or 700 euro if residential (inc. 2 nights in Gran Via Hotel, close to the venue)
